Chairlift to the Puijo hill

The chairlift of Puijo is free of charge for everyone. It serves ski jumpers and skiers, but also those who wish to visit the summit of Puijo.

With the chairlift, you can easily reach, for example, Puijo’s restaurants, or just enjoy the outdoors and admire the landscapes of Puijo.

The lower station of the chair lift is located in Puijo Monttu, to the left of the ski jumps (when viewed from the direction of the ski stadium).

The lift has a total of 43 chairs, each with two seats. Children may only ride the lift with a parent. The operation of the lift is handled by Mestar Oy.

The nearest parking area for the chair lift is located right next to the ski jumps. When coming from the city center along Suurmäentie, continue past the ski stadium towards Julkula and turn right in the direction indicated by the sign “P – Puijon urheilualue, Mäet”.

The shortest route from the ski stadium parking lot and the bus stop closest to the ski jumps (Puijon tuolihissi P, lines 7 and 9 or Hiihtäjäntie L and I, line 6) to the chair lifts runs along the pedestrian path in front of the Puijo ski stadium building.

Opening hours

• Open 30th of June – 3rd of August from 11 AM to 4 PM.
• Note! Exception on Saturday, July 12: the chairlift will be closed due to the Orienteering World Championships taking place in the area.
